Why You Don't Need a Prophet
GF David
Memorise: "Listen closely, I have set before you today life and prosperity (good), and death and adversity (evil)." — Deuteronomy 30:15 (AMP)
God has given you the ability to choose, and He wants you to grow in spiritual independence. You do not need to wait for a prophet to do what God has already empowered you to do. Each day presents an opportunity to obey, to make choices that align with His will, and to walk faithfully in His light. The power to obey God is already in your hands; maturity comes as you act on it.
When God speaks through a prophet, it is guidance, not a replacement for your responsibility. You must respond with faith and action. "Listen closely, I have set before you today life and prosperity (good), and death and adversity (evil)" (Deuteronomy 30:19 AMP). God honours your decisions and waits for your obedience. Even miracles and deliverances require your participation; your choices either strengthen or limit God's work in your life.
Living faithfully requires that your life reflects God's principles. When your life pleases Him, you become your own intermediary. "The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]" (James 5:16 AMP). Obedience, not reliance on others, ensures that your prayers are effective and your spiritual authority grows. You are called to be doers, not just hearers, so that God's promises can be realised in your life.
Remember that sentiment and emotion should not dictate your choices. Choosing based on convenience or feelings may seem easy, but God calls for wisdom and discernment. "For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3a AMP). Your gifts, your opportunities, and your circumstances are all tools for obedience, but they require conscious, godly choices.
Every day is an invitation to step into spiritual responsibility. Trust God, make choices according to His Word, and take authority over your own life. When you do, you will no longer need constant guidance from a prophet; instead, you will walk in a life marked by testimony, maturity, and victory. "For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God" (Romans 8:14 AMP).
Prayer/Confession: Father, I choose to live a life that pleases You and obeys Your Word. I declare that I walk in wisdom, make righteous decisions, and embrace the power of choice. I trust You to guide me and protect the blessings You have given me. I confess that my prayers are effective, my life is fruitful, and my testimony is secure, in Jesus' name, Amen.
