7 Ways to Become the Esther of Your Generation

Esther was not lifted by accident. Every step of her rise was preparation meeting purpose, and God is still raising Esthers in every generation, ordinary people positioned for extraordinary assignments. Here are seven ways to walk in that same anointing.

1. Know that you were positioned for such a time as this. Mordecai told Esther in Esther 4:14, "who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Your placement, your job, your relationships, your influence, none of it is coincidence. God positions His people before the crisis ever arrives.

2. Submit to divine mentorship. Esther did not rise alone. She had Mordecai, who guided her, corrected her, and kept her grounded even after she became queen. Esther 2:20 says, "Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people, as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai." Every Esther needs a Mordecai. Do not despise correction from those God has placed over you.

3. Prepare in secret before you appear in public. Before Esther ever stood before the king, she went through a season of preparation, Esther 2:12 describes twelve months of purification. What people see in public is only possible because of what happened in private. Do not resent the waiting season, it is preparing you for the throne room.

4. Fast and pray before you act. When the moment of decision came, Esther did not rush in on emotion. She called for a fast first. Esther 4:16 records her words, "Go, gather together all the Jews... and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day." Before Esther approached the king, she approached heaven first.

5. Wait for God's timing, not your emotions. Esther could have burst into the king's presence in panic. Instead she prepared two banquets, waiting for the right moment to reveal Haman's plot. Discernment, not urgency, guided her steps. Impatience has destroyed many assignments that patience would have secured.

6. Take the risk of obedience. Esther 4:16 also holds her most famous declaration, "so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish." Boldness for God will sometimes require risk. An Esther does not wait for guaranteed safety before obeying, she obeys and trusts God with the outcome.

7. Use your position to intercede for others, not just yourself. Esther did not use her platform for personal comfort. She used it to save an entire nation. Every position, every promotion, every open door God gives you is not just for your benefit, it is for the people you are assigned to deliver.

God is still looking for Esthers, people who will be prepared in secret, submitted in humility, bold in obedience, and selfless in purpose. You may have been positioned for such a time as this. Rise and become that Esther.
